Throughout my university course AI was one of the subjects I found most interesting, this led me to choosing a type of AI for my personal project. After doing some research I came across the Boids algorithm, I looked into it a bit more and quite liked the idea of modelling group behaviour. So as part of my personal project I implemented the algorithm in my own style and considered its use within games. After university I also made a 3D version of the project using Unity.
As part of my university degree there was a group project to take a game from concept to completion, it was definitely the best project of the course and led to our team working on it late into the night on many occasions. The brief essentially asked for a multi-player dog fighter, there were other stipulations as well uch as making it also run on the Arcade cabinet. As a team we were very proud of the final product.
As part of my university degree we had to create a technical demo that orientated around sound and included the UWE games logo. Our idea was to have a spray gun onto a blank board that revealed the logo when the correct colour hit the correct spot. The sound element was to have a different sound for each colour when it finds its correct spot, a different sound for each letter and a final fanfare for the final completion of the word.
